Right way to fit a velux?

I've got a roofer in at the minute, not paid him yet. He has fitted veluxes but instead of cutting back the foam weatherproof strip at the edge to sit flush with the tile he has just ripped it right off. Is this going to cause problems down the line? It's an otherwise decent job so I don't want to make him take all the tiles back off and fit a new strip if its not going to be an issue.

Hard to tell from the pics.
Is there a gap between the velux and tile or is the foam filling the gap?

It's a bit lazy , just tell him to put them back and trim accordingly
