Ring/radial

I don't want to pick on you either; but you have claimed to know about rings and radials.

Yet you have said:

, I'm assuming it needs to be either made into a ring or rewired 4mm/20A. .

If you know about radials then you should know that a standard 4mm radial is protected by a 32A cpd. A 20A cpd would be required if the radial is in 2.5mm²

Training companies are partly to blame for the confusion in the actual existence of 'Part P' courses, they obviously use that title as it gets more hits than the proper qualification gained at the end of those courses ie. VRQ or DISQ.

There is no such thing as a Part P course, doing Part P or being Part P qualified.

Students should however really be aware of what they're being taught and what qualifications they stand to achieve.

Guess I need to look inside the CU.
I so can't believe you haven't done that.

It might help clarify what circuits you have - which are rings, which are radials, why you have the number of cables you do and not some other number you might have to support a layout you haven't got but seem to be guessing about...

If this was a car maintenance forum, and you posted here about strange noises, poor performance, smokey exhaust, engine overheating etc whatever etc, and announced that although you'd been pondering it, and thinking up possible diagnoses, you hadn't actually got round to popping the bonnet, how do you think people would react?
