She got her money back. And now is chasing the £500 to repair her ceiling.

She called PM247 numerous times, then advised them she'd teferred to Action Crime, who have accepted her case. They've now refunded the full amount of £714,

Then sent an email stating her ceiling must be repaired at their expense & has requested someone from the company to visit her home to inspect the damage, so

waiting to see what they decide

Text from this lady this morning.

Her words
"PM247 have said I signed a contract advising tjete could be damage etc, when I've opened the contract it's bn signed on my behalf, it was sent 9n the Sunday he came, but I didn't open the email until 2day, & clearly it's not my signature, I think that's fraud"

With that attitude, my expertise to carry out a repair is in the gutter. Post your details so I am not ripped by you since I am a sole trader. What I charge and you accept is way it works. Some will call my charge excessive, others not is the way the system works.

Also what makes you think a sole trader lacks resources and knowledge?

I don't think anyone reasonable would do that on the internet, but you could, upon learning that your prospective client's name is Fred, ask them if they go diving in their leisure time and if they say yes, don't take the job

The ONLY way to pick a trades person is by 1) recommendation, 2) work carried out has been correct and reliable timewise ( say a year later), 3) Internet commendation means nothing.
Have learnt from experience, great Internet commendations, but builder turns out to be a vagabond and scam artist, who deserves to be tarred and feathered in town square
