hi,

Bought a house with an extension, there is s strong musky smell from one of the rooms I can’t access this from the loft so have had a look at the roof from the outside.

Where the extension meets the house there is a large gap in the tiles. The wood board under neath is rotted.

Is this an expensive job to fix and is it likely this is the source of the musty smell?

The eaves course of tiles needs raised on the extension! eaves trays fitted as well as any rotten wood stripped out and replaced.

Thank Ker-plunk

I will call a few roofing companies tomorrow. There is a really strong musty smell coming from the room where the roof is a problem.

Do you know a rough cost to put it right?

The musty smell is mould spores. Typically caused by condensation.
