Roof repairs - 6 man days and £2500.

Hi all. Ours is a double fronted end terrace built in 1892 and has a tile roof which I believe was last replaced fully in the 60's/70's.

We have a few loose and damaged slates and some tired pointing on the ridge tiles so I asked a reputable local roofer to take a look. Quote was to;

Supply and fit 7 slates and pin 2 slates back in place.
Lift 18 ridge tiles, re-bed and re-point.
Flash around chimney
Clean gutters and remove waste.

The quote (without scaffoliding) was £2500 and would take 3 lads two days to complete. I'm obviously not a roofer and would welcome thoughts on this price.

If someone is quoting for this type of work without scaffolding, you should give them a wide berth.

2 blokes, 2 days max would be more like it.

A day is 8:00 to 4:00, not 9:00 to 1:00
