Ours is detached also, the original garage having been converted into a bedroom with a flat roof. So its just the roof space above the original building that I have to deal with, which is probably about the same size as yours, perhaps slightly smaller.
I've ordered a pack of ten for now, because we have had a minor problem with red mason bees laying their eggs under the roof tiles and I'm concerned about them expanding their creche to within the roof space if I introduce a number of new openings on the slope. So I'll fit the ten, and if there's no significant incursion of bees I'll fit more next summer.
