Hi Folks. I live in a Welsh cottage that was rebuilt without any planning or building regs tht has been a nightmare for over 20 years. I have just removed carpets in a bedroom and discovered that the concrete and screed floor is covered in roofer's felt on top of bitumen paint. This felt has worn through here and there but is largely intact; the floor also has a couple of small shallow fissures. Suprisingly, it has little damp and will have even less once the walls are re-rendered and plastered using lime instead of cement and gypsum. I think I can just leave the felt down and cover in bitumen, maybe with more felt, once I fill the small fisures. Does this sound daft? If it doesn't, what would be the best way to fill the fissures? All ideas and suggestions gratefully recieved. Diolch/thanks
