Hi All,
Just after some advice regarding fitting a wireless room stat to the system. It uses a Honeywell ST699 for the controls.
Is it possible to use a stat with this controller/boiler combo? If so are there any recommendations?
Best Regards,
Paul.

Hi All,
I forgot to add I've got a Honeywell wiring centre which is still in the box.
Would this be the right time to tidy every thing up and use it?
It's grav fed h/w and pumped c/h.
Thanks

Can you provide more info on your boiler, I can't identify it. It sounds like a Mexico. The GC number on the data plate will be best.

You should have no problem connecting a wireless stat; and the wiring centre will be the best way to go.

You say it's gravity HW/pumped CH, so presumably there are no motorized valves.

It's an Ideal Type RS 80N, I'm in work at the moment but I can get the number off the plate later if you need it.
There's no motorised valves at all.
I'll try the wiring centre, would I have to take out one of the link wires for my system?
Cheers

That won't be necessary.

So it's the type of wiring centre with the blocks of connectors arranges in a "goal post" shape and pre-labelled? If so, it won't be suitable for your type of installation as it only works if there are motorized valves on the system.

If you just want a wireless thermostat, then the Honeywell DT92E is very good. The controller is battery operated and the receiver is mains powered.

The Heating On terminal of the ST699 is no 3.

(Assuming the DT92E receiver)
Connect L and N to a permanent mains supply, e.g L and N of the ST699.
Disconnect wire from ST699 terminal 3 and connect to terminal B
Connect terminal 3 of ST699 to terminal A.

Pumped heating/gravity hot water systems are no longer permitted so your system will have to be upgraded to fully pumped when your boiler is replaced. Unless you opt for a combi boiler.

Sorry to bring this one back to life but would the Honeywell HC60NG do the same job and have the same connections?
Thanks

Sorry again - the Y6630D is what I meant!!!
Why are you asking again?

A wireless stat has two components: the user control and the receiver. All Honeywell wireless stats and programmes use the HC60NG receiver. The instructions I gave are for wiring the receiver. The user control is battery powered.
