Just a quick question really.

We have our heating on during the day ( 3 bed semi ) up to 20.5 c but at night switch it off.
Do you actually waste gas doing this,is it better to keep the CH on so it keeps to a constant tempreture because it seems to take quite a while to get it back from around 18/19 c to 20.5c during the day.

Just wondered what other people do and why and which is more efficient.

Its a Worcestshire Bosch by the way brand new condensing and i think 15k heating power if that means anything to you ???.We have 7 rads and a small towel rad to heat.

Each Rad has a thermostat new fitted. And all of the rads do get hot.

Also is it cheaper to heat your water by immersion or gas if you have a hot water tank ?.

I think this gets asked so many times, you may not get much of a responce.
My input, why have hot rooms at night when you are asleep.
I have room stats each room is set to a comfortable level.
I have a room stat that controls time & temp , ie in the morning on at 6.30 set to 18, off at 8.30. Evening on at 3.30 set to 20 off at 9.30, I increase manualy by 1 degree in the evening, by having it set at 20 means if we are not in the house is keep at a comfort level for when we get in.
Its all about trial an error.

Water heating, electric is 100% efficient, gas is about 60% (I think).
I think electric is more expensive than gas.
