Rothenberger torch grub screw seized

Hi all,

On my rothenberger superfire 2 the grub screw that you need to remove to replace the piezo has seized in place. I've tried wd40, various Allen keys and torx bits etc but this grub screw won't move. Any one else had this problem and managed to get this screw out?

Pour boiling water or hot air gun.
Metal will expand.
Might help.
Heating metal is a known way to budget things

Penetration oil/spray or another blow torch to heat it up... Did this the other day on a seized socket for 1" float arm.

Can't use another blow torch as the plastic on off button is right next to it

WD40 is NOT a penetrant - it is a water displacement substance.
You need to use a proper penetrating oil like PlusGas or GT85

With Wd40 (which is even less effective than it was before the VOCs regulations) it is oil vs water... And we all know they don't mix... Former floats on latter!

So, you need a formula that can penetrate (through any water) to the mechanism and free it up/lubricate it.

I'm not disagreeing with you but I have never failed to free stiff isolators or taps with WD 40. I wouldn't expect it to be too effective on very rusty nuts an bolts but it might help if nothing else is available..I don't have shares in the company but it's always the first thing I try
