round sink and seperate round drainer

ive fitted a seperate round sink and drainer, both came with same trap with spigot attatchment, i connected the sink over flow pipe to spigot ,and trap to underneath of waste leaving a small compession type fitting that i'm guessing connects to the drainer trap. if so how ??. i connected drainer trap to waste and blanked off spigot, could i use the spigot from drainer as my dishwasher waste bearing in mind that it will go from there to the smaller compression type fitting on sink?? clear as mud.
