I’m in the process of rerouting hot and cold water pipes under a floor and behind a wall to connect to a shower plate. I have two options for running the pipes:
1. Option 1: Route the pipes from the floor, up behind the wall, and through the insulation to the shower plate.
2. Option 2: Bring the pipes up through the base plate of the stud wall and then to the shower plate. This would require modifying the thick timber piece in the base plate, but that’s not an issue for me.
My main concern is whether there are any potential problems with running plastic or copper pipes through insulation. Should I avoid this, or is it perfectly acceptable?
