Rover 75 Exhaust price?

Got a Rover 75 and the exhaust sounds as though its just developed a hole in it. Just managed to crawl under the car at the weekend and the exhaust looks like new?

Went down to my local exhaust place today who talked in double dutch car language, but wanted to charge me over £400 for a replacement front section.

£400 is that the right price for a Rover 75 front exhaust section? seems very steep to me.

The car is a Rover 75 Diesel, 2.0l TD on a 53 plate.

I have since spoken to a mechanic who will fit me a new exhaust for an hours labour but i don't know how to find the part it fits as no dealers exist.

Any help appreciated.

You are an absolute star, i will give them a ring tomorrow to order one. The £400 looks a bit steep then in comparison to £55.

they may have priced for the cat aswell, just check that the exhaust actually splits where you need it as alot of aftermarket exhausts are made up of a few seperate sections, and the original may only be 1 or 2 pieces
