hi i'm having a ground floor brick wall knocked down to open up lounge and dining room. This wall supports a brick wall above it. The opening will be 3 metres long the builder wants to put a 7 * 4 rsj in will this be the right size ? ? ? thanks.
think this will put your mind at rest, im having a 6mx3m exstension built on the rear of the house. im knocking through to the new exstension through the rear existing wall and the span is 2690mm,which is a tad under 9foot and my steel calcs are 2xno 178x102 which are the same as yours. pretty much the same openings and steels. hope that helps
thanks renner nice to get a sensible answer. brick wall above is only single brick wide so should be ok by the sounds of it. yes woody I am going through council just thought i'd get it double checked before I gave go-ahead.
