My kitchen needs a cooker point for a new (first time) electric oven. I have a socket, but I'm after a double oven, so a plug supply probably won't do (?).

Would it be acceptable to run the new cable in the plaster cornice to avoid trunking?

Thanks.

I have a socket spur in my kitchen run behind the coving as the floors above are chipboard sheets and a pain to lift to gain access. Mine is within 6" of the ceiling so I believe this is OK as in a safe zone
