I would like to add a socket using a spur to a conservatory, (adjoined to the house). my easiest route is to take it outside along the walls and back into the conservatory. Would I have a problem with this.

yes

it is not allowed under the regs.

twin and earth not made to be used externally (it will perish in time)

it has no mechanical protection

We all perish in time. Possibly some cable is better than another. Have some here been dangling in the rain for 20 years. Pressure washed it this year to get the green off and it came up looking good as new.

nothing wrong with runnign outside but you must use suitable cabe for the job

you couold use SWA but you would need decent sized metal boxes at both ends to terminate it

Hi-tuf would also do. Or arctic in conduit.

PVC in conduit fine, too. You only need to protect the cable from UV damage and running in black conduit satisfies this condition.
