Hello All,

I want to run cable in to my shed so i can put a light and plug sockets in there.. i have a outdoor socket in my garden? i believe i can run SWA from that to my shed.. what is needed from there?

Thanks.

Hello Luke.
This work would be notifiable :( , so it's probably best get a registered sparks in to do it to be honest.

They would need to know how the existing outside socket was 'fed' if they go down that road.
However, they may prefer to run a separate, new supply to your shed.

Have you any 'spare' ways in your C/U ?
Is the route from the C/U to your shed a nightmare ?
What do you intend to use the sockets for (load wise) ?
They may advise you to have a small C/U fitted in the shed and cable the new circuits from there ?

Hope this is of some help
Regards
Ed

Outdoor socket? If it has a protected plug (can remain connected in all conditions) then could you run a flexible cable from the socket to a socket within the shed? This would avoid all the part P problems, be safe and cheap. HTH
