If anyone here has a bit of spare time to advice me on the following, l would really appreciate it.
The plan is not to scale but l hope my explanation makes sense. I have given each area a letter to make it easier.
Ok so.....

1)Currently Switch A operates the porch light, lounge & dining room.
* l would like it to operate the porch, new spotlights in lounge & (separately) new spotlights above a shelving alcove also in the lounge.

2) Would like switches D to also operate lounge spotlights (2 way) and stair/landing light which is 2 way but moved into the same switch, and to operate new spotlights H in kitchen. H needs to be operated by switch E also (2 way). In same switch E for utility.

3) Switch E needs to operate the spotlights G in utility but on/off only.

4) Breakfast bar 2 new spotlights F to be operated on/off on its own switch.

Can you tell me the routing of the new cables, which type of cable and what switches/gangs l need to get for each area. Any questions please ask and l'll do my best to answer.

Thank you in advance.

In the main, the problem is getting wires from A to B, and problems then redecorating, so there are a host of ways to control lights with wireless methods, the second problem is lack of neutrals at a switch.

Clearly, power needs to go to the light, but not always the switch.

To get power to the light, one can use a lighting track, it may only do the same as a bit of trunking, but makes it look as if designed that way, rather than an afterthought.

Much is down to aesthetics, a remote control in a holder Remote control.jpgmay do the job, but a button

with a surround making it look like a switch may look better, 1739968722870.png there are many wireless switches today, even

voice control,

there seem to be two main ones, Nest and Alexa. I use Nest.

But there is also the cost, and so you need to look at the options, and in the main voice control does work, but it can on the odd time behave like a mischievous little boy, and only you can decide what is worth considering.
