Running power from another socket advice

Hi all,

I have a three pin socket in my airing cupboard that powers my home alarm keypad at the minute. It also houses the RCD.

Anyway what I really need in the airing cupboard is a proper light. Could the power for a lamp of some sort be taken from here or should I just use a double plug?

It could be possible to downfuse via a fused connection unit and fit a light to it, you could also consider taking a feed from the lighting circuit.
You seem to also have other plates further up the wall!

What do you mean by "the" RCD?
