Hi

The cistern in the loft runs after being flushed until the flush 'cable' is moved a bit at which point it stops running and starts to fill. This toilet is newish and has a cable operated flush and the fact that wobbling it slightly makes it fill i guess something is getting stuck somewhere but it does not look the most service friendly thing in the world.

Any clues as to what the issue is?

thanks

because i removed it to take a photo, if i didnt the lid would not sit flush on the toilet lid and most likely fall onto the floor and damage it/floor

More likely the cable is twisting so makes it stiff in the outer cable and not running freely.
