I replaced my Switchmaster programmer with a Siemens RWB9. Had both heating and water working ok until I changed to 5/2 days from 7 days. Now the only way I can get heating to work is by removing motorised valve head and operating manually. Please help

does it work if you select advance or +1 hour on the heating side. is the hot water side working ok? is your system a "S" plan or "Y" plan. oh, a quick one. is the clock set for pm instead of am. (i made the same mistake 2 weeks ago on a rwb7  )

what happens if you adjust it to how it was, before you adjusted it to how it is?

I am wondering has the valve gone phizz phizz zap, dead

right, you have power running through the rwb9. first thing to check is a switched live coming out of the "HTG" terminal when you select for heat.
http://content.honeywell.com/uk/homes/Catalogue/Sundial Plans/3.4 Y Plan.pdf this is the wiring for the "Y" plan system. also make sure the room stat is calling for heat. (sorry to state the obvious) also try setting the nibs back to 7 day programmer to see if it works.

If I could remember what it was to start with I'd be laughing instead of crying !!!
The valve will only switch back to water only. If I turn it to heating it just reverts back to water mode.

is the 3 port valve ahoneywell item i think they are set in the position to give priority to hot water when not powered up.
