Hi,

I was wanting to double check that it is safe for me to remove my old extractor hood from its fused spur and leave it switched off (and fuse removed) until my new extractor arrives? The hood is on the kitchen sockets circuit, so I want to switch the circuit breaker off for this circuit, remove the cable from the spur, remove the extractor from the wall, and reattach the spur to its box. Then I'll remove the fuse, switch the socket off and turn back on the power to the circut.

Can someone confirm that it is completely safe for me to leave the spur like this until the new extractor arrives?

Thanks.

Yes, as long as you remove the cable from the Fused Connector Unit.

Just switch it off. You don't need to remove the fuse but you can if you want.
