Safety cut out

How do you know if an immersion heater has a safety cut out?


I thought they had to have a reset button.

This is one off the TLC site shows no indication that is has a safety device.
being new I presume it has. How can you tell if its a bit old.

in new immersion elements thers is normally one built in that connects to the stat and the element so a reset is not needed on the stat. google it there are images of the cutout on the immersions!

There are two types listed, ones with and ones without safety cut out.

Some immersion heaters have the cut out as part of the base unit and some use a cut out in the stat.

I always put in replacement stats that have a cut out if the original does not have one

If its a NEW installation it must have a safety cut out!

As Taylortwocities said backer immersions are fitted with the cutout on the main base plate not the stat.
