Oh no, not "good" news - sounds like it could be the end of a blossoming relationship  .

Ok, so do you expectant fathers want the good news or the bad?

Um, it's a flow switch which only Joe-90 knew about which nobody else thought it had?

Agree with ChrisR. It's gotta be "Good news - it's fixed. Bad news - it was the flow switch."

Penster - please could you clarify...

Are you saying that your boiler has a part that many engineers on this site haven't seen on all the examples of your model that they've worked on?

If you have a part number it would help us to home in on the blighter.

Softus, it wasn't Penster who said that - it was just ChrisR's guess .

What makes you think Penster isn't a 'pen' name for another poster?

Doh! Retract, retract! Sorry Penster. Sorry ChrisR.

So we're still waiting for the jury to come back then?

You must really chomp through those monthly prescription allocations joe.

If Penster has a sense of humour - she might just disappear never to post again.

joe

eh? What is that supposed to mean?

And I wouldn't do that, its just fun keeping you guys in suspense

Oh no!

This is not funny. Listen Penster, if a nine year old boy dressed in a British Gas uniform comes to your door for God's sake don't let him in! Look for the tell-tale sign, what appears to be small electrodes eminating from his glasses to his temples.

If you do, please please watch him very carefully. Look for signs of him reading armfulls of previous postings as he fiddles with the intimate parts of your heater. You'll know if he is really an enemy plant when he utters the secret password "flow-switch".

Get out now while you still have a chance
