We have had a new Salamander pump recently installed. For 90% of the time everything works fine. But then for example if you turn off the shower to while washing your hair, the pump does not restart when you turn the water back on again. Only resuming after waiting for several minutes. Does anyone have ny idea what could be causing this?

Yes flow switch problem.
The pump should switch each time there is flow.

Possible overheating issue, some pumps are not rated for continuous operation, or pump is covered up with something, or the thermal cutout is faulty.
