Can anyone help ?

We have installed a Salamander pump 1.5 and it is not working properly.

When we turn the shower on the pump will not feed enough hot water through to the shower (hence pressure low) and the pump will not then switch off. The pump stays on even though we have turned the shower off.

Any ideas.

Sounds like starvation of hot water caused by an air lock or incorrect installation.
Is the pump a negative head or positive head type.

The correct type of pump should be used depending on its location etc.

Make sure the pump is correctly installed EXACTLY as shown in the diagrams shown in the Salamander litrature.

If all is correct call out Salamander engineer, if your pump is the electronic negative head type (it has a small cylinder strapped to it) then they have been known to have the odd fault, I have a customer who is on his 4th in 3 years.

If you call the engineer be prepared for him to investigate your installation very carefully including the size of the stored cold water tank, the proximity of the ball valve to the water outlet, hot water take off point and pipe sizes, any deviation from the Salamander diagrams and installation instructions will be noted and possibly blamed for the pump malfunction wether it is the root cause or not. I have been there.
