The system is fitted as per instructions.

From bottom of tank to highest point in system is 700 mm

Flow under Gravity is 2 l per 30 seconds.

But still pump struggles to kick in for 1 of the showers.

1st shower is bar mixer and works fine.
2 nd is a concealed 2 way divert or, so it has a hand set which comes out the wall low...and works,
But... The fixed main shower head doesn't kick in.
Only if you run shower from handset or from 1 St shower then problem shower works.

The shower is from Victoria Plumb,
And has two outlets and one knob is thermostatic control.
On web site it says minimum .5 bar pressure.

Could this be the cause ?? Ie resistance causing shower flow switches to not kick in??
I've checked everything from pipe sizes to minimum distances and I'm getting readings of over the recommended!!

Or is it possible pump could be border line??

Customer also said today that shower 1 , that previously worked fine , has been fluctuating hot cold!!

On my last visit I turned down cyl stat as it was set to 70'!!
I reduced it to 60, and also lifted the tanks in loft to get me a extra 200 mm height, taking me to just over 700 mm ( base to top pipework) but still same!?

Can rising tanks have a effect on temperature?? As well as pressure obviously?? Because till then 1 St shower was good.

Thanks in advance

What inlet elbows??
The problem shower hasn't got any!
It's concealed and has hot cold and two connections for 2 outlets
1/2" x15 mm or 3/4" x15 can't remember
I've heard that before about flow restrict its but I dunno??
There's a flat headed screw next to both outlets on the brass body that says hp and lp, tried adjusting these but nowt??!

Why raise CWSC when a negative head pump would have overcome any issues regarding low static head?
Does hot supply to pump have a dedicated supply from hot water cylinder?
Does cold down service to pump have a dedicated supply from CWSC?

Because it isn't known what the issue is, and who's gonna buy another pump for £300 or whatever,
My feeling is yeh, negative head will sort it but everything's been done regarding manufactures instructions so the shower should work , doing a job to standard to find it still don't work stinks, why should we have to pay when Salamander has walked us through what needs doing and it's wrong??

Yeh, both hot and cold have 22 mm dedicated supply's.
Surrey flange for hot and a second 50 gallon tank fitted to supply cold.
Even Salamander tech. Said installers are being cought out!! Fitting positive pump to find showers resistance causes issues with pump.

Even though they told me this I havnt got 100% conformation that this is happening.

Has customer had water board around to advise on "saving water" and fitted bloody annoying restrictive indices or strainers to taps and shower heads?
This has caught me out in the past 12 months, a few times!

Do yourself a favour and fit a negative head pump, you can spend more time farting around trying to get the setup you have now to work not to mention call backs it's not worth the hassle.

Yeh that's right, .5 is 5 meters... Ridiculous,
700 mm isn't even .1bar!!

I didn't make this point cos I just presumed it was a given!! Not that I didn't think.
When you've been grafting in a loft by yourself all day in this heat and something's playing up like this it ain't easy.
When there's someone who had the same issue its just nice to be able to question things and put everything out there , so people know what's going on
Thanks for help

You say you are getting 4l/min flow under gravity, is that at the fixed shower head? Where is the pump located?

Good question.... !
The fixed head is the same flow as the handset under gravity, about 2 l/ 30 sec( man instruc.)

But....

Fixed head has mind of its own and sometimes doesn't flow until it wants,
In this case it's why Salamander won't come out to look at because it isn't everytime.
I think I'm just putting negative pump in and sell Rsp75 pump on eBay or whatever??

Thanks for reply
