As I said earlier, arguing about who was where first is childish, primitive and unhelpful.
What is needed is a solution that ends the violence, discrimination, and control of one ethnic group by another.
But on a basis that is equal to both groups, and doesn't engender violence on the scale of the India - Pakistan divide.

Coincidentally, UK was at the forefront of the India-Pakistan division, creation of Israel, the Kenya-Mau Mau (and other African) atrocities, and probably several other issues around the same time in history.
Evidently the British Empire left a bloody mess behind in its disintegration. Viewed in the light of history, that mess in disintegration of the Empire was probably no worse than any mess caused in its creation and maintenance.

the annexation of Palestine is not yet complete, but has made enormous strides in cutting up the land and constantly growing the area under Israeli occupation.

If you google "Palestinian farmer shot" or "Palestinian olives destroyed"you will see what happens to Arabs who try to tend their land once settlers are nearby. Ethic cleansing in process. Once, there were signs saying "Judenfrei" when a village had been cleansed. I don't know the Hebrew equivalent.

In some countries another factor has to be considered - the war like mess in some before they became part of it, The 3 main religions on the Indian continent - the empire aspect only applies to one of them and it's not that popular.

Many lines on maps forming countries are down to a whole host of empires that have existed at one time or another. It isn't unusual for them to contain more than one population group. Even Ukraine has it's interesting aspects in this respect. Yet another empire and not just Russia. That's ones line disappeared. Sometimes they don't.

On a global scale this will never happen, never, just as genuine global peace between countries will never happen.

Humankind isn't capable.

Imagine if God existed. God decides to wipe the memories of all humans in terms of negative historic differences on a local and global scale (whether political, religious, geographical etc.) So we all start on 'day 1' with a clean slate, the ability to start afresh in terms of getting along with each other. However, we've not been lobotomised as such. We still hold our own beliefs and are still capable of greed, a desire for power and control etc. Negative traits if you like.

It would only be a matter of time until we started to see disagreements between groups and countries, some of which would grow into significant and long running disagreements.

Like I say, we're not capable. If anyone thinks otherwise, they're at best deluded.

I'd disagree. If you are alive, it indicates that you have been born, just the first time.
For sure, to die, first you have to be alive. But to be born again, you must die, after being alive, for the first time.

I suppose you could be pedantic: 'to be born again, fist you have to be born and be alive, second you have to die'. But it kind of loses its literary fluidity.
