I have just returned from hols and turned on heating, basically no heating! Hot water fine. I have a Salus RT300, with the thermostat in the hall and the control unit connected to boiler. I think it is about 18 months old - we have been here about that time and a new boiler / system installed by last owner.

On the theremostat there is the low battery indicator on but I have fitted 3 sets of new batteries and the indicator has not gone. The control unit has a power light on, but no green light which indicates it is not recieving a signal. When I reset the system, the light on the control unit flicks on 3 times but never catches.

I have read the manuals and spoken to Salus, who told me how to fix it, but following their advice has not cured it. Their advice was connected to the jumpers at the back of the two units being the same. As it is now a bank holiday, I am guessing I will not get to speak to them again soon.

Any other advice? Will i need to buy a new unit? Despite it being august, my wife is freezing and I need to fix it quick. Help.

Thanks

If you're OK with electrics, why not stick a link in the thermostat until they(Salus) open up again on Tuesday morning??

Salus stuff is OK by the way & their Technical guys are very good. One of their guys hangs around on Screwfix Plumbers Talk. Try there, it's a much better forum than this.
