Hi guys, never really thought about it before to be honest but I recently had my dining room done and as I was on a tight budget I had some rounded skirting put on ,

Now I'm doing my kitchen and I prefer the ogee style of skirting but it's dawned on me that maybe it's "the norm" to have the same style skirting through the entire house, is that something you guys would agree with??

Never really crossed my mind before if I'm honest

If you were doing all rooms because they need doing or it was a new build I would expect all skirting to be the same.

Personally I'd use the same skirting throughout. It also needs to match the architraves.

Cheers

Ours is different. I think we have 4 or 5 different kinds. I only actually noticed after 4 years When I replaced a bit. Personally I'd go with whatever is right for the room.

Traditionally you would have fancy skirting in the downstairs rooms, less fancy upstairs, and least fancy (or none at all) in the kitchen and servants quarters!
