I recently installed a new type of flooring called Industry Parkett. It is a solid walnut parquet I glued to T&G subfloor in long rows. After installation and sufficient bonding time I am ready for the sanding with 40 grit to even out all the rough uneven edges. The problem is I have never used the drum type sander offered here at rental houses and have concerns about gouges and ripple marks and do not want to ruin the floor (after all Ive been through to get this far!). It is difficult to find a contractor who wants to come in to sand a 10 square meter floor.

Does anyone have some helpful tips/suggestions for me as I undertake this new adventure. Any thoughts are appreciated! Thanks!

Pete, hello and welcome.
don't know about the quality of drum sanders in Sweden, but if you want to go for the best result:
DON'T use a drum sander from your normal local hire shop! Find a professional floor sander, belt sander appr. 80 kg and proper edge sander. There must be flooring companies out there who hire out their equipment?
