im going to apply hibuild for the first time on old but sound plywood sheeting, probably tomorrow as the predicted temperatures are better-12/13 high and 7/8 low.ive removed the old hibuild completely, well 50%fell off and on the advice of a painter from my rugby team ive primed with oil based paint to seal the wood and stop the moisture going out too quickly from the hibuild.the wood is in 4 separate panels (1.2m x 0.5m) between dormer windows.it is currently covered in monarflex sheeting which will go back on after the hibuild is applied.
question is- the datasheet says on page 2 "important note :allow a minimum of 3 months in reasonable drying conditions before over painting or redecoration"
do you allow 3 months?
funnily enough the house next door has had the hibuild treatment.the timbers around the panels and the plywood were rotten and were all replaced.the hibuild was applied to plywood w/o primer 3 weeks ago. its been covered in polythene ever since and the house owner put his first coat of sandtex masonary smooth paint on yesterday.he paid lads to change the timber and apply the hibuild but hes doing the painting himself

Never used or seen it but as its a textured coating its applied thick so probably means a very long drying time (similar to render), it needs to dry out fully to avoid trapping moisture between it and subsequent coatings.

I'd aslo say that reasonable drying conditions would be considered end of march to late October sort of time.
