my house was painted in this stuff a good few years ago , i need to get it off completely and apply limewash as my render is cracking and its trapping moisture in the timberframe.
any ideas guys?
ive been told clingstrip works but it may prove expensive as its a lot of area to cover.

Sandblasting is the only way I've ever seen it done successfully.

its 25 quid for 5 litres or 118 for 27 litres. its worth it for me because of the delicate nature of my house , its incredibly old and may not fair well to sand blasting.

I have used a stream stripper in the past on render- hard work though.

Alternatively hire a festool masonry renovator, it will grind the paint off. I spent £450 on one and it paid for itself on one job.

This may or may not work but I've used "X-Tex Textured Coatings Remover" to remove emulsion and gloss paint in my house. I just paint it on using a brush and wait about 30 mins. I can then scrape the paint off easily. I've not tried it on exterior paint so cant say for certain how well it will work.
