It depends on how secure the fence post is......the bigger and deeper the better! I guess there's a fair amount of wind resistance on such a dish.

I would think that the fence and post will still be moving about in the wind.
Try it if you must. It's hardly a big job to fix it to the fence. If you find you have to fix it somewhere else after losing the signal in high winds, it's hardly been a waste of a great deal of effort.
