Satinwood paint - which make

L

longdogs

Hi

Can anyone recommend a good make of one coat satinwood/eggshell white paint. Last time I used Dulux satinwood and was disappointed as it strated to go yellow after only a few weeks. I've heard that Leyland paint is better but thought I would ask for advice first.

Thanks

Far better with a water based satin these days. All the oil stuff goes yellow.

As Joe says, the oil based paint all yellows since 2010 when the regulations about paint changed.
I highly rate Johnstones acrylic paints, and using floetrol to condition the paint helps achieve a decent finish.
However, it is not a one-coat paint - these are rarely any good which is why you always see them in Homebase-type places and never in proper decorators merchants....

You may need to prime the surface of whatever it is you want to paint and a good sand down first is a must too.

What are you painting and why do you want a one-coat paint ?
