Hi All,
I recently had a door dipped and I have repainted it.
I used Leyland oil based primer and then 2 coats of Leyland Satinwood.
I painted in the garage (where it's obviously cooler and moister than the house) and after about 4 weeks if it sitting round in the garage finally got round to bringing it into the house to hang it.
I have noticed that the paint is still very soft - you can scratch off the top layers with a fingernail.
It also still smells very 'painty'.
My thoughts are that it just hasn't been warm enough to dry in the garage. I am hoping it will dry out now it's in a house with the CH on.
Anyone seen a similar issue? Took me bl**dy ages to prep it all and paint it - don't fancy redoing it.
Ta!
Ben
