Hi

On a Dormer build in regards to dormer ridge beam.
Property is a terraced house with single party walls. The BC dont support tampering with Party Walls. what will be the best option to Support the ridge beam to satisfy building control( ie bracket , post)

Thanx

Agree with Woody, sounds common practice to me, on what grounds do BC not like your proposal ?

I have/am doing a loft with a almost full width dormer.
I have NO steel for the structure only for the chimney.
Mine is being done beefing up beams to 6x2 on the front half of the house then the dormer is fixed to the beams front and rear

What if the wall is already supporting a neighbouring ridge element Woods?

Oh yes, there may be reasons why there may be problems with the wall,
but the OP stated that "The BC dont support tampering with Party Walls" - which is nonsense, so the OP needs to clarify why the wall can't be used
