Hi

We've got a Saunier Duval type SD 620F combi boiler.

The problem we have is in getting hot water from the hot taps.

On the front of the boiler is a lever, one end is summer setting, the other winter.

If we put the lever in the centre and run the hot taps the boiler fires up and we get hot water. If we then leave the lever in the centre the boiler does not stop heating when the tap is shut.

So, after we have hot water running we put the lever to either end and the hot water still runs and the boiler turns off when the hot taps turn off.

The boiler works perfectly for heating the house.

As you can see we can get hot water from the taps, but it is a bit of a pain, especially when I'm washing up (the boiler is in the first floor bathroom).

I'm wondering if anyone knows if this is a simple problem to fix for an engineer, or whether we would be better off living with it until we have a more serious problem!

Appreciate your reading this.

the lever should not be left in the middle it should be at winter or summer position

Thanks kebplumb - you were absolutely correct. Had it fixed for 46 quid after ringing round many, many plumbers.

Hot showers all round now
