boiler not working ...help please

I heard a loud bang yesterday morning my boiler had shut down. It does power back up but won't light. It is showing an F2 fault that the manual on line describes as 'air flow failure'. Is this likley to be a new fan or is it something more catastrophic ? The manual goes no further in its explanation.

Any help would be really appreciAted

Well clearly its a gas/combustion related problem.

But for obvious reasons these are not suitable for DIY repairs.

So the best advice is to call a competent engineer.

Although these are not a very easy boiler to work on and many engineers will try to persuade you to have a new one fitted. All I can say is that the spares are available and they are repairable if you can find someone to work on it. But do ask the engineer first if he is familiar with them first.

By chance I have to go to one this morning and I am not looking forward to that!

Hi agile

Thank you for the help. I have called an engineer. Am I right in thinking that the fan is likely to be the culprit?

Seems unlikely to me that the fan is at fault.

But fault diagnosis is not possible over the internet.

It needs inspection and testing on site. Anything else will just be a guess.
