One last thing.....how do I omit a zone on partition A.

To omit a zone:
1. Key in an access code (or present a tag).
2. Press 2.
This display shows: Omit Zone?
3. Press the number of the zone you want to
omit (for example, press 07 to omit zone
7) and then press y.
The sounder gives a double "beep" and
the display shows the zone number
followed by an "o":
Omit Zone 07o
If you try to omit a zone for which this is
not allowed, the display shows an "X"
after the zone number.
Omit Zone 07X
4. Press X to exit.

Not got a manual ;)

Dear workers,

As partition A triggers the external alarm I will try this tomorrow. Your knowledge seems excellent!

I assume you are a scantronic alarm specialist???

Well thank you for your excellent advice. it is very much appreciated. I will let you know how I get on.......I suppose I should stick to bathrooms!!

Lol thanks.
I like most experienced engineers are knowledgeable about most mainstream systems. And a few oddities :D

why on earth are you setting it as a Partitioned system. as there is no need set as a normal system and use the part sets A-D set all zones as A and all downstairs zones as B so when you do a B setting you just have the downstairs or which ever zones you need on .

As I said why partition. Part setting is far easier.
No need for a small domestic to partition.

Hi sparkymark and Workers,

Thank you for your reply :)

I originally had no partition but on reading the manual I wanted the keypad upstairs to operate on instant silent setting. (when the kids come home late they can set thecdownstairs alarm without waking evryone up). With the downstairs keypad setting as usual when exiting the front door

after partitioning the system I set up the downstairs pirs on the partitons AB and the pir upstairs I just set partition A.

I have found out that when they are set up on partition AB - the pirs are not working on partition B. if I set up a pir on just partition B, it works fine...and sounds through the Keypad. ( I set up partition B to just sound the keypad as to not wake the neighbours), I just want to know if someone's inside!

However, when the pir set on partition B BUT is activated on partition A, it does not activate the full alarm, just the internal sounder as requested on partition B.

Is this info any help........or am I talking a load of b*ll*cks!!!!![/quote]

most people just use part set you can set part set B to instant set, so you go to bed enter code press B instant set, kids come in entry tone unset by downstairs keypad, kids go to bed press code B instant set. you can set each partset A B C D for there own set/unset times alarm responce and set type.

Hi sparkymark,

I think you and Workers have convinced me that I have set up the alarm incorrectly!

Is part set hard to set up? ( I find the programming guide quite hard work!)

looks like you will have to default it and set it to partset instead of partition setting. sorry

Hay...ho..

I appreciate everyone's help...thank you. It will give me something to do at the weekend

Just to confirm though...I should be able to silent set the upstairs keypad using a part set in b?

yes you set part set B setting to silent set this will be silent on all keypads but dont forget the entry is not silent

Thank you very much. Your advice is very much appreciated :).

It's a pretty sad world though when you have to worry about people Breaking into your house during the night :(

Thanks again!

"Silent set" isn't quite silent - it still does a "be-beep" at the end, when it sets.

It wouldn't wake me unless I was listening for it but I am a knackered dad of littl'uns who think that 05:45 is a lie in!

Without going back, it was mentioned it double beeped at the end of the setting.
And my children were in their own room from day one from maternity and never bothered us. Apart from the feed obviously. After that period We woke them up. :D

Only asking, so please do not take offence. Were they in your bedroom for long after being born?
