hi, i am in the process of buying a house and have been looking into getting some kitchen appliances. i was looking at the freestanding gas cookers but realised they you cant situate a gas hob right next to a tall larder unit. how can i get round this looking at this picture of the kitchen? (the tall larder unit is next to the gap on the left hand side of the picture)

can you put it next to it if you have a non-combustable material on the larder unit like ceramic tiling or somthing or do you still have to maintain the safty distance.

if its not possible then any ideas where i can put the oven and hob?

thanks tom

Get a couple of quotes ask them the questions as they should know and use their ideas :D

Hi kingthumper23,

I can’t see any solution that doesn’t mean loosing a wall cupboard or ending up with a layout that looks weird.
I would pull out the larder cupboard and if possible cut it down to standard height and reuse it with one door. Your worktop is joined with jointing strips rather than mitred so fitting in a new section to cover your new “base unit” will be simple.
