Screed Floor - Quantities of Sharp sand and Cement

Well, yes ! - but it seems to me that no-one is querying the screed estimator sticky on the Building forum - or the Source4me estimator -- I reckon both are seriously wrong (and one is copying the other) -

There are no more recent reliable mix-guides, nor any more recent threads - except the occasional person saying "4:1 mix is 7 or 8 bags cement to 1 tonne sand" - which is CORRECT --

Try getting this answer from those estimators !

Instead of starting a new thread, i thought I will ask my questions on here as there already is quite a bit of usefull information in here. Therefore pardon me if this violates the forum policy.

2 questions really if any one can provide likely outcome if:

1.rendering floors, if the mix is more watery, is there any consequences of it as oposed to a semi dryish mix?

2. The ratio by volume of the sand and cement is normally specified as 4:1, what if this ratio was made 6:1...what exact consequences would this result in? The floor will not be having regular human traffic, it is just to cover a very uneven concrete floor with large pebbles, probably build 90 years ago!

I just need to know if I really need full strength screed in my cellar which is going to be used very rarely, as it is for storage of my tools. thank you in advance.
