Hi guys I was wondering if anyone can give me advice regarding removing the handle from a screwdriver. Is it possible to melt it in the oven then remove it? Its a plastic handle. From the feel it seems like a thermoset polymer. Its also a rolson torx screwdriver.

depends on construction
some will be molded others will be push fit

the often have wings to give them strength that would stop the handle rotating but also stop the handle coming off
would suggest warming the shaft would be the way to go possibly with a blowtorch or electric paint stripper and trial and error pliers and flame proof gloves

I am trying to change something in my car. However my torx screwdriver is a bit too long and I know if I can make the handle smaller it will work.

As stated above cut it with a hacksaw, if you don't want to ruin a perfectly good screwdriver then maybe purchase a T handle screwdriver

if you are prepared to sacrafice the handle
cut the handle where its short enough possibly with a bit off handle left to grip

or smash the handle with a hammer under a cloth

Roast on 180 for 30 minutes, basting with WD40 regularly then serve with a garnish of lemon, basil and drywall screws
