What's the best way to fix to MDF(hinges drawer slides etc.)? Are there special screws or will ordnary wood screws hold?

A decent screw will do, I tend to use Reisser ones but Screwfix goldscrews will do. 3.5x16 is the ideal size.

If you are going into predrilled 5mm holes then you need to buy the hinges that come complete with screws and for draw runners you need draw runner screws obvious really ;) There is a shorter version for 15mm carcases

To add to Jason's comments I've found that Spax screws work as well as Reissers, as do Hospa screws (if you ever seen them). I like the "drawer runner screws", which my supplier does in several lengths and calls either Varianta or Euro screws, for hinge mounting plates, etc as they are less prone to pulling out of either chipboard or MDF, although your drilling has to be spot on to use tham, so make-up a jig if you go that way.
