Don't ask why but I want to give a 'push fit' heater coolant connection on a thermostat housing a little bit of help on a Peugeot vehicle. I have silicone, Fernox Water Hawk jointing compound and silicone grease. Any thoughts on best choice?
TIA!

Surely all of the above will just help the push fit slide off.
Would a jubilee clip work?

No, it has an 'ear' which you press in, then you push pipe on, let off ear and it's locked - a thin plastic o-ring/seal makes the connection. They use them on the diesel circuit too. The pipe is hard plastic also.

See that the sealing rings haven't been displaced by someone heaving on the connector and pulling it off non square..
Silicone spray or grease is all you need here if it's a little reluctant to go on.
John :)
