I want to replace a sealed unit in the bottom of a door with a solid panel so that I can fit a cat flap. I have cut a hole in one before and it was composed of expanded polystyrene sandwiched between sheets of uPVC, are they all like this? Are these panels made to order or can they be bought and trimmed prior to fitting?

Yes almost all of them are of the type you described above. Just take out your old sealed unit, measure it inc thickness and go find a window fabricator who will cut you one to size.

You should be looking at between £20 and £50 quid depending where you live
