I have a female hand knob that I have screwed onto an M6 screw. For security reasons I don't want anyone to be able to unscrew the hand knob and take it away. Is there a way of 'corrupting the thread' on the screw to stop anyone unscrewing the hand knob once I have screwed it on?

Thanks,

Julian, UK

is it wood or metal??

how big is the shaft off the knob[the bit that touches the door]

i assume you cannot get to the screw at the back if the door is secure

my thoughts are a second hole drilled and a screw or pin at a second point to stop it being unscrewed
this could be done invisibly by drilling a hole in the knob shaft and a matching hole in the door so when the knob it tightened the pin/nail will be invisible
or from the back strait through into the knob

Thanks for your reply. THere is no door involved but 2 pieces of a wood (a child's toy). I think the loctite thread flu will do the trick.

If its all wood, why not simply glue the knob on, with the screw providing addition strengh and holding it till the glue cures.
