I have a flap vent on the outside of our house (the outlet for an extractor fan over our hob) that has come loose.
It looks like it was previously attached/sealed round the edges with a thick sealant.
Will (external) window and door frame sealant do to re-attach/seal it to the brickwork or should I use something else?
On a side note the back of the flap sticks out approx 50mm (rectangular) and fits directly into a rectangular vent that I assume originates from the extractor. Can you still get vents like this? I had a look at B&Q, and they only had vents that were more or less flat with a circular & rectangular template at the back that seemed like they need to be attached to flexible hosting???
