I've clad an outside building in larch, and I have left to do, larch timber reveals and architrave. The latter will, I hope, cover my cack handed DIY-ing where the timbers meet (or don't); but I'm worried how sharp the back edge of the reveal will look against the aluminium frame.

If it's a bit ropey, is there a silicone that will effectively seal the larch to frame in a bead? Thanks.

Not sure how wood will behave(shrinkage) against the frame and the risk of the silicone splitting. I'd have thought it would be minimal. In the old days of wooden window and door frames, we used to use an oil based mastic against the frames.

I think I'd take the risk with silicone though. The trick is to have a wide-ish cut on the nozzle, but don't squeeze too much out- i.e. don't let any excess build up on the leading edge of the nozzle.

Ivor, of course you are correct- but I was after advice in order to make good my inability to cut a tight join between wood n window!
