sealing tiles

what type of tile are you talking about,can you enlighten us all ere.....

there are many differant sealer/impregnators etc out there and mfr to..

for stone/porcelain etc..you can do a water test proir to any fixing,just pour droplets of water onto the tile and if it absorbs it then sealing is needed...even if the tile doesnt absorb the water you will still want to put a sealer on also,this helps prevent any dirt ingress into the tile.

just remeber there are good quality tiles out there and also..not so very quality tiles... :wink:

when using sealer etc i tend to use water based products like the ones in the link above or there are solvent based ones.

if using sealers you can apply before you fix any tiles or fix tiles and work very cleanly,you would apply a coat of sealer before grouting and a min of 1 more coat after grouting.
